Exclusive New Asus ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM

ASUS has once again introduced a new monitor called the ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM. This time it is again a “heavyweight” with a 34-inch screen diagonal and, of course, properties optimized for gaming. Among other things, the response time of the new PG34WCDM is just 0.03 ms.

With the PG32UCDM, Asus is presenting one of the first 32-inch QD-OLED monitors with full 4K resolution and a frame rate of 240 Hz. In connection with a USB-C connection with Power Delivery and an integrated KVM switch, the monitor is supposed to be well-rounded and offer a total package.

With the ROG Swift PG32UCDM, Asus is presenting what it says is the world’s first 32-inch gaming monitor with a QD-OLED panel and full 4K resolution.

The panel promises impressive specifications because, with a diagonal of 32 inches, a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, a pixel density of 140 PPI and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, the panel should be as sharp as it is bright, according to Dough, however, the built-in panel only achieves a brightness of 150 nits in SDR mode. The frame rate of 240 Hz along with support for Nvidia G-Sync predestines the monitor for gaming enthusiasts.

The monitor was just released as part of Gamescom 2023. The screen diagonal of 34 inches corresponds to around 86 cm. The display is typically curved, with a radius of curvature of 800 mm. The advantage: The content shown appears less distorted, the immersion increases and the eyes are also relieved.

The maximum resolution is specified as 3440×1440 pixels, whereby the response time (grey to gray) is a very good 0.3 ms, as mentioned at the beginning. The OLED panel also offers a refresh rate of 240 Hz. The brightness is always important with a gaming monitor: this should be a proud 1,300 nits for the ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM.

The interfaces are no less bad: There is both a KVM switch and a USB hub on board. A USB-C port with PD and up to 90 watts of charging power has also been integrated. The monitor is connected via HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort 1.4. Otherwise, it should not go unmentioned that the monitor is True Black 400 certified and compatible with G-Sync.

And when can you treat yourself to the part? That will probably give you something. ASUS states that it will take until Q1 2024. No one has said anything about the price so far, but you will have to reach into your wallet a bit. For more information, you can visit the manufacturer’s website directly.
