Radeon 7900 XTX and Ryzen 7 7800X3D in gaming design

AMD and Bethesda are deepening their cooperation a little further and giving the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX and the Ryzen 7 7800X3D a Starfield design. According to Bethesda’s QuakeCon this year, the exclusive designs will be strictly limited and can only be claimed through a sweepstakes.

A white AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX as Starfield Limited Edition

Bethesda unveiled the design at QuakeCon, which started Thursday and will last until August 13th. Similar to the Starfield Limited Edition Controller for Xbox, AMD’s current most powerful graphics card shines in white and is covered with decorations and logos intended to represent content from the upcoming game. However, the graphics card retains the reference design. The manufacturer has therefore not dared to approach a new case, so the cooling and performance should be on the same level as a standard Radeon RX 7900 XTX (test).

In addition, the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D was presented in a Starfield Limited Edition. However, the adjustments are limited to the now white-black packaging, AMD does not seem to have made any special paintwork or modifications to the heat spreader. It is also not an overclocked or otherwise modified variant, so the performance will also correspond to the standard Ryzen 7 7800X3D (test).

Radeon 7900 XTX Only available through sweepstakes

However, the new graphics card and CPU designs will not be freely available, but will only be raffled during QuakeCon and in sweepstakes in the coming weeks, as Bethesda’s marketing director Pete Hines emphasized. The number of available cards and processors is limited to 500 pieces, so players will probably have to invest all their karma to get hold of one of the exclusive pieces.

AMD is a technology partner

The collaboration is no coincidence: AMD is Starfield’s technology partner and has already attracted attention in the past with some strange PC requirements and also triggered a controversy about Starfield’s FSR exclusivity. Because the sci-fi epic will start without DLSS and fears of AMD’s personal involvement made the rounds.

Currently, there is also the Starfield Premium Edition as a bonus when purchasing selected AMD PC components. The competitions shortly before the release of the game are thus part of the Starfield marketing campaign.
